Annette Island Service Unit's program for domestic violence prevention and victim assistance is called Women In Need Gaining Safety (WINGS). WINGS is on call 24 hours a day and operates a safe house for victims needing emergency shelter. In addition to emergency shelter, the WINGS staff provides one-on-one support for victims. This support includes continuous monitoring while in the shelter, either in person or via telephone, assistance with the social services office which provides counseling to the victim, round-the-clock security while at the shelter, assisting the victim to focus on obtaining alternative living or financial arrangements, and immediate transport to Ketchikan at the victim's request.
To report DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EMERGENCIES call the WINGS 24-hour Hotline at (907) 886-4555, the National Domestic Violence 24-hour Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE, or DIAL 911.
